Bhutan is the world's last great Himalayan Buddhist kingdom, a nation that measures progress in Gross National Happiness and guards its forests, fortresses, and festivals with quiet pride. Whitewashed dzongs command every river valley, prayer flags ripple across high passes, and the cliff-clinging Tiger's Nest monastery defines the country's spiritual heart. Reached overland from the Dooars through the border town of Phuentsholing or by air into Paro, Bhutan is the natural extension of any Eastern Himalayan journey.
A glimpse of the landscapes you'll travel through.
Indian nationals do not need a visa but require an entry permit, issued on a valid passport or Voter ID. All visitors also pay Bhutan's Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). Our package arranges permits, the SDF, and a licensed Bhutanese guide as required by law.
Spring (March–May) brings rhododendron blooms and clear valleys, while autumn (September–November) offers crisp skies and the spectacular tsechu festivals. Winter is cold but clear; the monsoon (June–August) can disrupt mountain roads.
Most travellers drive from Siliguri to the border town of Phuentsholing (about 4 hours) and continue overland to Thimphu and Paro. Alternatively, fly into Paro International Airport (PBH). Our tours handle the border formalities and all transfers.
