Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve spreads across the floodplain of the Brahmaputra in central Assam, sheltering two-thirds of the world's remaining greater one-horned rhinoceros population. Elephants, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, and Bengal tigers share the tall elephant grass and alluvial forest, while the wetlands draw hundreds of migratory bird species each winter. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, Kaziranga is non-negotiable on any North East India itinerary.
A glimpse of the landscapes you'll travel through.
The park closes from around 1 May through 31 October due to the Brahmaputra floods. The best season is November to April; February and March offer the finest wildlife sightings.
Kaziranga has five safari ranges: Central, Eastern (Agoratoli), Western (Burapahar), Kohora, and Ghorakati. Each has a distinct landscape; our 3-day package covers three ranges.
Fly to Jorhat (JRH, 97 km) or Guwahati (GAU, 217 km) and drive to the park. Furkating railway junction is the nearest railhead, 75 km away. Our tours include all transfers.
