Slow travel on the world's largest river island — Vaishnavite satras, Mising stilt houses, and sunrise cycling along the Brahmaputra.
Drive to Neamati Ghat and take the public ferry across the mighty Brahmaputra — a 1-hour crossing through braided river channels and sandbanks — then cycle to your eco-stay.
Visit the 500-year-old Auniati and Kamalabari Vaishnavite satras (monasteries), watch monks create the island's famous papier-mâché masks at Samaguri Satra, and spend the night in a Mising stilt house above the floodplain.
Early morning cycling along the embankment roads as egrets and storks lift off the wetlands, then return ferry and departure from Jorhat.
~573 km from Siliguri (as the crow flies)
