Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Shillong

   Arrive at Shillong, check in, and head to Umiam Lake for a serene lakeside evening with views of the surrounding hills.

2. Day 2: Elephant Falls & Cherrapunji

   Visit the three-tiered Elephant Falls in the morning, then drive to Cherrapunji — one of the wettest places on earth — and explore the Nohkalikai waterfall viewpoint.

3. Day 3: Nongriat Root Bridge Trek

   Descend 3,500 steps into the valley at Nongriat to reach the iconic double-decker living root bridge, grown over 500 years from Ficus elastica roots by the Khasi people.

4. Day 4: Dawki & Mawlynnong

   Take a coracle boat on the glass-clear Dawki river along the Bangladesh border, then walk the spotless bamboo-paved lanes of Mawlynnong village.

5. Day 5: Local Market & Departure

   Morning browse at Shillong's Bara Bazaar for local produce and handwoven textiles, then depart with a farewell meal.
